Malik Nabers can't recall the play where he suffered a concussion

The day after he cleared the concussion protocol, the New York Giants rookie wide receiver spoke to reporters about the play and his injury:

"It was kind of sickening to not know what happened," Nabers said. "The last thing I remember is [Jones] throwing me the ball. That's it."

Of course, short-term memory loss isn't uncommon with concussions, but it's concerning nonetheless. Nabers also reportedly said he experienced headaches and throbbing after the injury.

Nabers missed the Giants' next two games — a win over the Seattle Seahawks and a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The concussion interrupted what was a very strong start to his NFL career. Through Week 4, he led all NFL players in receptions (35) and was second in receiving yards (386). The Giants selected him with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and, without hesitation, immediately inserted him into the starting lineup to be a target for Daniel Jones.

Now, Nabers is poised to return to the field Sunday against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. He was reportedly limited in practice Friday with a groin issue, but is fully active for this weekend.
