The deadline for NFL trades is eight days away. Weak-starting teams are looking to part with expensive veterans. Super Bowl-bound teams, on the other hand, are looking to upgrade.
Who should we keep in mind in the coming week?
1. Edge Danielle Hunter. The three-time Pro-Bowler, who turns 29 in a week. Currently, he's the league leader in sacks. He has a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings, with a modest base salary of $10 million. Much depends on the Vikings' next two games. In the event of two losses, the likelihood of a trade is high.
2. WR Jerry Jeudy has long been available for a trade. While general managers are split on the price – at most giving a late 3rd round pick. In general, the Broncos are supposedly willing to consider offers for all but, except, CB Patrick Surtain.
3. WR Hunter Renfrow is not in the Raiders' long-term plans, in part because of the player's salary next year ($10.8 million).
4. The Washington Commanders would like to keep both Chase Young and Montez Sweat, but linebackers are costing the team dearly, and another loss could change management's mind.
5. The Carolina Panthers should supposedly be willing to sell, but who to choose from? WR Terrace Marshall is already looking for another team, CB Donte Jackson they want to keep. Maybe CB Donte Jackson.
6. Is there anyone to gobble up for the Patriots? Belichick is said to always be willing to consider offers on players, but doesn't make trades, you have to pay triple-digit prices to do so. Edge Josh Uche, WR Kendrick Bourne, Mike Onwenu, DT Christian Barmore and S Kyle Dugger are of interest to other teams.
Who should we expect the most activity from? The Colts, Packers, Panthers (though you can't call those guys contentenders) and Chiefs have all been interested in the receivers, but the latter have already brought back Mecole Hardman.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry is being aggressive. “Cleveland Browns” may well strengthen to strengthen the chances of getting out of a difficult division.
