Overall
Versatile defender, capable of playing deep in the backfield, in the slot or closer to the line of scrimmage. Strong physically and good against the run game. He has a knack for picking corners for a solid tackle position and is useful on blitzes. Played both zone and personnel cover, although his effectiveness decreases against fast receivers. Overall, Smith is one of the most consistent defensive backs in the draft class. On the field he can do just about anything, he should have no problem adapting to almost any scheme.
